Back-to-School Drive
AT&T Pioneers Valley Council To Donate 300 Backpacks to John’s Incredible Pizza Company’s Inaugural Back-To-School Drive.

August 13, 2010 (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) - In generous support of John's Incredible Pizza Company's first annual Back-To-School Drive, the Valley Council of AT&T Pioneers will donate 300 brand new backpacks filled with essential school supplies to support local students in need as they begin the new school year.

"We are truly inspired by AT&T Pioneers Valley Council's contribution and the spirit in which it came to the cause," said Mike Stout, John’s Incredible Pizza Company's Director of Operations. "We had barely announced the drive when John's Email Club member Sonya Valenzuela of the Council, reached out to us in earnest asking, 'How can we help?'"

"In keeping with our goal to direct donations collected in one of our location communities to benefit families living in that community, John's Incredible Pizza Company has chosen to partner with our local Boys & Girls Clubs and Monarch School San Diego to distribute supplies to the local children in need," explains Pam Hurley, John’s Business Development & Community Relations Manager.

"The 300 filled backpacks that are so generously being donated by the Valley Council will be divided equally between our 3 locations within the area the Council serves; with 100 backpacks each being distributed, along with other donations collected and any funds raised during the drive, to the Boys & Girls Club of Fresno County, the Boys & Girls Club of Manteca, and the Boys & Girls Club of Stockton respectively."

John's Incredible Pizza Company has a long-standing history of supporting its communities through many varied programs and partnerships. "I have always believed that it is our responsibility as corporate citizens to give back to our communities," reflected John Parlet, founder and owner of John's Incredible Pizza Company. "Due to various circumstances, shopping for new backpacks and school supplies is simply not an option for many families. We've heard it said, 'Today's youth are tomorrow's leaders,' through this drive it is our goal to set today's youth up for success in the school year ahead as we look toward tomorrow."

John's Incredible Pizza Company's Back-To-School Drive is now well underway with hundreds of school supplies already donated at each of its 10 California locations and will continue throughout the month of August. Supporters can drop off donations at any John's Incredible Pizza Company location and visit to learn about additional ways to help and receive a free $5 FunCard with wrist coil for participating.
